Kay Anderson, MD is a Board Certified Pediatrician in practice since 1991. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and in 2005, she shifted her focus at The Lincoln Pediatric Group to caring for breastfeeding dyads. Dr. Anderson also has degrees in Social Work and as an RN, with a broad range of healthcare experiences. She hopes to provide practical knowledge and tools to your “village” so that the norm is to breastfeed, and thus every mother gets appropriate support and a fair shot at providing breastmilk for her baby for a year or more.Dr. Anderson will teach what an ideal breastfeeding process looks like so unnecessary intervention is avoided. You’ll learn how to recognize when infant weight loss and gain is not ideal, and how to support the situation. Practical information to deal with common breastfeeding problems will be presented, along with ideas to sustain breastfeeding upon return to work and for the long-term.Dr. Anderson plans to share what she does as a lactation medicine specialist in hopes that each of you will glean information to use in your role working with mothers. It takes a “village!”
