Living Well at Work
Most likely, your day goes something like this. You got up, went to work, ate lunch, went back to work, went home, and on it goes.
How well did you take care of yourself today? We spend a lot of time at work. Let’s see if we can use time at work as time to better take care of ourselves.
Most work places have many ways that they can make changes for the better. Such as, look at what food is brought to meetings. Have one of the options be a fruit or veggie. Or listen to what makes it hard for your co-workers to be active during the workday. Plan one of your meetings to be a walking meeting. Or find a walking route near work that employees can use during even short breaks.
When we are eating better and being active, we can lower our risk for many health problems. These include heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and colon and breast cancers. Better health choices also can help us not gain weight and set up for a healthy heart and stronger bones. Other good things are that we have better balance (less falls!) and moods.
